Olives

Merlin's Grove is an Olive Grove situated 10km to the West of York in Western Australia. 5,000 olive trees were planted in July 2003 - 4,500 of them for the production of extra virgin olive oil, and the other 500 for table olive production.

The first olives were picked on April 9, 2004 - Good Friday - and 27.5 litres of oil was produced.

The oil won a bronze medal at the inaugural York Olive Festival in June 2004, and followed this up with bronze medals in 2005 and 2006.
